I work at the intersection of generative AI, teaching, and learning.
My focus is on how people actually learn with emerging technologies — and how we can design AI-powered tools that support understanding, curiosity, and long-term knowledge transfer rather than just task completion. I bring a background in classroom teaching, curriculum design, and applied evaluation of AI systems into cross-functional product environments.
In professional settings, I’ve led evaluation of internally developed AI tools, including an AI-powered knowledge base and a conversational training chatbot. My work has focused on learning flow, clarity of information, feedback quality, and how system design influences user comprehension. I collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to translate learning science principles into practical design recommendations and iterative improvements.
Previously, as an educator and department chair, I designed inquiry-based and project-based learning experiences grounded in learning science principles like metacognition, authentic assessment, and knowledge transfer. I also led professional development supporting educators as they adapted instruction and assessment in response to generative AI.
I’ve contributed to broader conversations about AI and learning as an AI Classroom Innovator with ASU + GSV’s AI Revolution in Education, through discussions with the U.S. Department of Education, and through conference presentations on generative AI’s impact on assignment design and disciplinary learning.
I’m especially interested in:
• How AI tools shape learner thinking and behavior
• Designing feedback systems that promote deeper understanding
• Evaluating learning impact in real-world product environments
• Bridging research on learning with practical product decisions
I also started a YouTube Channel called Kinematic with over 2.5 million views and 10,800 subscribers, producing educational and history and rocket science-focused content for a global audience. With over a decade of experience in film and video production, I’ve worked as a coordinator, editor, producer, and director for clients including Disney, ESPN, and Huawei.
